This document shows pieces of wisdom that Confucius learned and shared with his followers. These show another important “step” of the learning process: making connections. Confucius had much exposure to new information. He had a good education, was in government, traveled to different places, and saw a lot of conflict (Strong & Davis, 48). However, he didn’t just let himself be exposed to the information, he took the next step and connected all of the many things that he saw. He observed problems in governments, saw important relationships, and experienced real life, and afterwards connected all that he observed in order to create so many wise thoughts that we can still learn from today. It is important for a society to learn how to connect important information or else the information they are exposed to will become useless. This is the next step in the learning process and is thus presented after the Roman roads. First exposure, then connections.
